nodeQ part of the ‘QAssure’ Project funded by Innovate UK

— nodeQ is proud to announce its active participation in the ‘QAssure’ project, an innovative initiative led by BT Group and funded by Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency. This landmark project seeks to develop methodologies to assure the security and reliability of quantum-secure communications, such as Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), enabling their deployment in critical infrastructure.

As quantum communications continue to evolve, their role in securing sensitive data and infrastructure becomes increasingly vital. However, ensuring their performance and reliability is a challenge that requires new approaches. Backed by Innovate UK, the QAssure project unites a diverse consortium of academic institutions, startups, scale-ups, and global corporations to establish robust assurance frameworks for quantum systems.

Collaboration at Its Core

The consortium comprises 11 partners, including BT Group, nodeQ, NPL, University of Bristol, Cystel, HSBC, KETS, King’s College London, University of Loughborough, Toshiba Europe, and Quentangle.

“We are delighted to be part of the QAssure project, working alongside such an accomplished group of collaborators under the guidance of Innovate UK,” said Stefano Pirandola - CEO “At nodeQ, we are deeply committed to advancing quantum-safe communication technologies and ensuring their accurate and reliable integration into the network infrastructure. By contributing to this project, we aim to play a key role in setting global standards for quantum security assurance.”

Empowering the Future of Quantum Technology

Quantum technologies like QKD have immense potential to transform cybersecurity and infrastructure resilience. However, widespread adoption depends on the ability to ensure that these systems perform reliably in real-world conditions. The QAssure project aims to develop methodologies that address this need, making quantum-safe communications suitable for sectors such as finance, telecommunications, and national security.

“Innovate UK’s support of this project underscores the importance of assurance in driving the adoption of quantum communications,” added Stefano. “Through QAssure, we aim to address critical gaps in the assurance process, unlocking the full potential of QKD for practical applications. For this goal, nodeQ’s expertise in quantum security will be instrumental.”
